That Old Dinosaur

Alyssa got bronchitis a few days before Andrew's birthday and had to start nebulizer treatments.  Thankfully, we still had Andrew's nebulizer and dinosaur mask from when he was a little baby and had a few bouts with pneumonia.

Our baby boy is 6!

 

 

"Angry Birds" was the theme.... 

We wanted part of his birthday present to be a bounce house rental which everyone seemed to enjoy!

 

Alyssa was able to play with Drew Crum and they had lots off fun!

 

Andrew had 2 buddies from his class plus his cousins and we hardly saw any of them as they were in the bounce house non-stop!

 

And of course, his baby sister wanted to show her love for her big brother! :)  She's also sporting a ribbon that I wore as a little girl. Munner, Aunt Jenny and Ms. Wanda surprised us that morning and Munner brought a bag of ribbons I used to wear :)

After Andrew & I played in the bounce house awhile, it was Daddy & Alyssa's turn! :)

 

And of course, what party day would be complete without extra dessert before bed that evening?

 

 

02-22-13 Andrew Turns 6!

OH.... my baby boy is SIX!  Every year it gets harder especially when I look at him and see what a young man he is becoming.  He's losing that baby look and really looking like a young man every day.  He is my love and my heart and it's hard to believe that he's growing up so quickly!

We wanted his day to start off fun so we decorated the hall entrance to his room with streamers that he would have to pass through in the morning. 

He had donuts for breakfast and took ice cream treats to school to celebrate with his friends.  He opened some presents that evening but his birthday party with friends and family would be the next day.

 

We celebrated that evening with Andrew's favorite dinner (Spaghetti) and dessert. 

 

 

 

It was a great evening and wonderful to celebrate such an amazing, sweet, smart, empathetic and sensitive young man!  We love you Andrew!!!

Valentine's Day 2013

Valentine's Day was wonderful!  Andrew drew his teacher, Mrs. Leonard, her valentine that we placed on her box of chocolates.  I had to admit, I had never seen him write so neatly or carefully.  I think he has a crush on her but won't admit it! :)

 

Alyssa and I got flowers from Daddy.  We are saving the roses he buys her to use in her wedding when she is older! :)

Rainy Day Fun

Icky winter days call for us to become inventive with games inside.  One day, we decided to play indoor bowling.  It was a lot of fun!

Flags at Half Staff

In December 2012, our nation suffered a major loss when a gunman shot and killed numerous children and staff at an elementary school in Newtown, CT.  Shortly after, a gunman killed 2 Navy Seals from Midlothian at Rough Creek Lodge about 70 miles from here.  It was so tragic and so soon that our flags had to fly at half staff again because of senseless violence.  This was taken in front of Andrew's school while waiting to pick him up after school.

Big Wheels

Alyssa had been watching Andrew ride his big boy bike around and so we decided she needed her own bike.  So we got Alyssa her very own bicycle/big wheel.

You can tell that they are both proud of it! :)

 

And of course, who rides without gloves?  (Gardening Gloves!?!?!) :)

Dressing Herself

Alyssa hadn't been feeling well again for a few days due to her GI issues.  Finally though, she was feeling well enough that she wanted to get herself dressed.  I picked out the jammies but she insisted on wearing her bathing suit bottoms and brothers socks.  I was ok with it - my baby girl was starting to feel better! :)

 

And a few days later, she was back at school and had picked out her "Big Sister" shirt that she is so proud of! She can't WAIT for her baby brother to arrive! :)

 

 

Wintry Mix January 2013

One morning, we woke up to a Thunder Snowstorm!   It was lightening and thundering outside but instead of rain, there was snow and sleet!  It didn't provide much in terms of winter fun but it was pretty and we enjoy what we can here in Texas! :)
