On September 11, almost 1 1/2 weeks after Alyssa had been sick with stomach issues, they admitted her to the hospital in Temple. We thought it was her c-diff again and they prepared us for a lot of procedures and possibilities. Although we were much more prepared than we were for her hospital stay in April, it was still a scary process.
We had a few rough days but things began to turn around. The doctors also determined it was Salmonella this time rather than C-diff... PHEW! We decided it was looking bad when the head of Pedi GI comes in and says, "It's ONLY Salmonella!"
On day 3, Alyssa got her IV disconnected...this was great news!
Feeling better!
She was feeling much better her last day! So much, she had lots of fun playing with the latex gloves!
We were so happy to get home the evening of the 14th! We had missed Andrew terribly although he had been in the great care of our good friend, Debbie Miner, for a few days before David was able to get home with him the last night Alyssa was in the hospital. It was sooooo good to have us all together again!
