"You're messing up my house"

The Culprit

Recently, David and I have decided that Andrew is old enough to take on a few new "chores". One of those chores is to wipe the table after dinner each night.

As with anything, the first time a chore or job is given - it is done with zest. And this is NO different with our Andrew who LOVES to help. He LOVES to get "jobs" and so while we're not taking advantage of that - we sure are going to enjoy it with that enthusiasm lasts :)

So, his first night of getting a wet rag, Andrew wipes down the table. And the chairs. And the doorknobs. And the floor. And anything else he could get away with before we took the rag away.

The next morning we're all getting ready to go in our different directions and in my haste, a receipt had been knocked off the kitchen counter. Not realizing that, I couldn't understand why Andrew looked so upset as David tied his shoes on. After some probing, he looked distressed as he pointed to the receipt and said, "I just cleaned the house!!!"

Hmmmm....wonder where he has heard that before??? :)
